Though I remember having been fascinated with light and its playfullness since my early childhood, it was not until 2013 that I started to devote a major part of my life to photography. Since then, I have been shooting in downtown megacities, such as Istanbul, the hide-outs around the cities where people take shelter from the exhaustive rythm of urban life, as well as remote areas such as Eastern Anatolia. I continously explore different formats and visual expressions on a human centric ground and position myself at crossroad of art and documentary. Mostly, I am driven by my curiosity about the people and their unseen stories, the characters that are lost in their own inner worlds. Creating a connection to my subjects’ emotional layers, unearthing how intense they are and how deeply they shape us, this is what photography is for me. My desire to document comes out of such a natural will.
